Aftercare Options

Options for the care of your pet's body
A variety of options are available for the care of your pet's body after the euthanasia procedure:

    1) Making your own arrangements
You may make your own arrangements with a pet cemetery, crematorium, or your regular veterinarian. However, please be aware that in many areas there are ordinances which prohibit burying animals, even on your own property. If you do elect to make your own arrangements, just let us know, and no further questions will be asked.

    2) Rainbow Bridge Assistance
If you choose one of the following aftercare options, we can handle all of the necessary transfers of the body to the appropriate facility. We will also ensure that your pet is identified properly and handled with dignity and respect at all times. Prices for these options vary depending upon the service selected and size of the pet. Please check our Pricing page or call/e-mail for a more specific estimate.
    ClayPaws Paw Prints
In addition to any of the above, if you would like an additional remembrance of your pet, Rainbow Bridge also offers a clay impression of one of your pet's paw prints. These clay prints may be decorated in a variety of ways and baked in the oven to form a permanent reminder of your dear departed friend.
    -Private Cremation
Private Cremation is the most popular choice for aftercare and is usually carried out  through Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Park in Napa. With this option, your pet is cremated individually at a licensed crematorium and the cremains (ashes) are returned to you in approximately 2-3 weeks. They come back wrapped in plastic and sealed in a plain cedar box with your pet's name on a foil label attached to the box. Upgraded boxes, urns, and other memorials are available for an additional charge (in addition to the urns at left, you may want to check Bubbling Well's website for selection). Once the process is complete, the cremains can be picked up at the cemetary in Napa, they can be sent directly to you, or we may deliver them to you personally for added security. Cost ranges from $200-350 depending on the size of your pet.

    -Country Burial
As an alternative to other less desirable forms of pet disposal such as dumping, rendering factories, etc., a "Country Burial" provides for a more humane, while still affordable, choice. This procedure provides for a common burial or common cremation, one in which the remains or cremains of your pet are placed in the same opening with those of other pets and then covered with earth. With this option, there is no visitation to the actual burial site, however, pet owners may visit Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Park where they can see the "Memorial Pet Register" at the base of a Monument dedicated to those pets buried through this Program. Cost ranges from $80-150 depending on the size of your pet.

    -Private Burial
Private Burials are also arranged through Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Park and are for those who would like the opportunity to be able to visit their pet's burial site, and select from a variety of caskets and headstones. To accommodate pets of all types and descriptions, there are a variety of special burial gardens available. Please contact Bubbling Well directly for an estimate of the costs for this option.
